Rest Day Guilt? This Is For You
Take care of your body so you can take all the adventures.
When you take care of yourself, you’re actually taking care of so many things.
Yes there are social matters for the collective, but there are also personal matters for each of us. If you pull on one, you find they’re connected.
Your lack of energy doesn’t help anything. Your WILD awake-ness does.
Be wildly awake.
Learn and unlearn.
Do something different.
Do you ever feel guilty for taking time to move my body because you have so many other things to do? Do you tell yourself there’s no time to meditate because there’s so much on your mind? It’s crazy. It’s conditioning.
You know these things fill your energy up and it’s the reason you can show up in other ways and feel your best.
But yet… it’s just too fun.
Too restful.
You “should” work more.
You “should” be more productive.
But then you learn that a run, bike, or hike through the woods might be the MOST productive thing you can do right now… Not that productivity is the goal… But it’s the most life-giving thing you can do right now. What a relief.
We require experiences that inspire us. Inspire means to fill us up with the ability to do something. Remember that taking care of the collective means taking care of you first… taking care of your heart.
It’s not selfish. It’s self-sovereignty.
It doesn’t mean you’re not awake to the needs of people around you. It doesn’t mean you’re blind to other things going on in the world.
It means you’re starting with yourself, because how you show up to “be” today is the only thing you can control (and ever have). So don’t miss it.
There’s more introspection right now and it may require more space (and also more wellness). What you do for yourself, you do for all of us. Your higher form of action comes from solid physical and emotional awareness.
Let’s keep going there.
